Why I Wear The Same Color Socks Everyday
November 22, 2017
I was recently asked about some of the things that I do on a daily basis and why I do them. For me ritual is a big part of success. The reason for this is that you don't waste any time making decisions that really don't matter. For example, if I wear one color of sock all the time. I don't have to think about that decision every morning before I head out. It has less to do about the fashion of the socks, it has everything to do with saving time.
Saving time isn't the only thing that my socks are doing for me. It's the ability to allow my focus to be on those things that matter. Choosing my socks doesn't matter, but it's still a decision I have to make and it will wear on me. The reason I like making my lunches every day, isn't because I love the taste of chicken and rice. It's because I don't have to think about it. I pull it out and warm it up. It's really that simple (and because I want to drop a few pounds before next year).
Losing focus has always been the one issue that has plagued me from ultra success. I always tend to want to diversify right when things are running like a top. Which I think is the goal, isn't it? So, yeah.... I'm not perfect.
